It’s that time of the month again! I love coming home and seeing the little brown box waiting for me each month. Let’s dive right in and see what stuff we got to try.
Amrita Bars – A chewy, plant based superfood energy bar. I love bars of all shapes and sizes, but I am going to be honest and say I didn’t fall head over heels for this one. Perhaps it was just this particular flavor, but it kind of tasted like the inside of a fig newton and I’m not slamming either one, but just wasn’t my cup of tea. I do like knowing what everything is inside of the bar though. They offer several flavors and their own subscription service which is kind of nice. I’d be willing to try some of their other flavors.
Crank Sports E-Gel – Ok, we know I’m not a fan of gels, but I really want to be able to give all the products a fair chance, so I brought this on a recent trail run. It was raspberry flavor and maybe since it was pretty warm, that made it a little less palatable, but yea, still not a fan of gels. I do think it helped get me through the last half of the run, but I’m going to stick to gummies and beans.
Honey Stinger – Speaking of gummies, they included the new flavor of Honey Stinger chews, grapefruit, and as predicted, I loved them. Honey Stinger uses real honey as their sweetener which I like and the consistency of the chews make them easy to use on the go. I also love their waffles – so good!
First Endurance – This is a powdered electrolyte and hydration drink. It was cucumber flavored and it tasted just like cucumber water and you can use as little or as much as you want depending on your particular needs. I’m not sure I felt anything remarkable when using it, but I like the idea.
Pure Clean Powder – Beets are all the rage right now when it comes to health foods and this is a dried powder that you can add to water, juice or your smoothie. I’ve tried beets in other forms and I want to like them, I really do, but just can’t seem to find something that I like. I decided to try adding this to one of my smoothies and I may have finally found a way to get beets into my diet! It’s a little pricey, but if you just use it in your drinks every once in a while, the benefits are worth it.
Sportea – I love tea and will try just about any flavor. I thought this was an interesting product to have in a runner’s box, but I actually really liked the flavor and benefits. It’s a stronger, spicier tea, but gives you great energy and helps cut cravings for all the bad stuff I typically love so much. I would definitely get this again.
Dr. Hoys Pain Relief Gel – I decided to try this on my husband since he’s been experiencing some pain in his elbow. I can’t be the guinea pig for everything after all. It has a strong scent with menthol and camphor being the main ingredients. He said it felt cold mostly, but it did help with the pain. It’s a nice thin consistency and isn’t greasy so that’s a plus.
All Good Stick – They included a big sunscreen stick from All Good which is great for the face, nose and ears. I used this on my son on a super hot, sunny day and it did a great job of keeping him from getting sunburned. He said it smelled like hay, but it’s pretty much unscented. I like that I could keep this in my purse or gym bag. They do have other scents and a formula especially formulated for kids as well. It needs to be warmed up a bit before applying because it’s very waxy, but other than that, I’ll give it a thumbs up.
And there you have it, another awesome assortment of natural, useful, good for you stuffs. Thanks Stridebox for your continued impressive selection of new products!
