Subscription boxes are all the rage right now, from clothing to make up to food and happily, now there are options for runners as well. We found StrideBox which offers a monthly subscription service to anyone looking for the latest and greatest in running snacks and accessories. Here’s the gist – you sign up for less than $15/month and you get a great variety of running goodies delivered straight to your door. There’s a little bit of everything and you never know exactly what you’re getting so it’s like a present to yourself each month.
I was very excited to see what our first box would bring. It’s a nicely packaged box and when you open it, you’re greeted with “The Stride Guide” which tells you what you’re getting and how it’s best used. You will also find a few inserts from the companies featured that month to give you more details about their products and special offers you can use if you happen to really love something in the box. StrideBox also makes it easy to shop the brands directly from their site. It’s all very neat and tidy.
You then get to unwrap your happy surprise…
This month’s box featured products from Ruby’s Lube, Skratch Labs, E-Hydrate, Kate’s Stash, and Action Wipes, and as an added bonus, StrideBox tossed in a microfiber towel! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of stuff they were able to get in this little box. I definitely feel like you get your money’s worth.
Let’s get to the goods:
Ruby’s Lube, love the name, and it’s basically an all natural anti-chafe balm. It’s good for anything that might rub together, and I do mean anything. It has a pleasant lemongrass scent and isn’t overly greasy or sticky. It makes your skin feel nice and soft too. Buy Ruby’s Lube Here
Next, you have from Skratch Labs, fruit drop energy chews. These were raspberry flavor (mmm, raspberry) and they’re an energy chew made with fairly simple ingredients. They’re tasty, with the same chewiness as a gum drop, but not nearly as sweet. They have a little bit of a sour coating (think sour patch kids) and would be a good mid run fuel boost if you’re more into chews and gummies vs. gels. Buy Skratch Chews Here
E-Hydrate is a gluten-free energy and electrolyte filled gel also made from all natural ingredients. I am not a fan of gels – it’s a consistency thing – so I’ll be kind and share these with some other
guinea pigs friends and see what they think. Buy E-Hydrate Here
Kate’s Stash Energy Bar is basically a chewy granola bar made with organic ingredients. This bar was peanut butter dark chocolate and it had the added bonus of flax and hemp seeds. I like the fact that I could actually read the ingredient list and know what everything was. It was a little bit chewy, a little bit crunchy, and a whole lot of delicious. These could be dangerous in large quantities! Buy Kate’s Bar Here
There was also one large full body Action Wipe. This is an essential item for any gym bag. The nice feature with these is that they’re alcohol, paraben, and sulfate free – read: good for your skin! They’re also cruelty free and made in the USA which is a huge plus. They’re even re-usable which is awesome. Buy Action Wipes Here
Last, but certainly not least are a couple single serve pouches from MeSrength. These are gluten-free, vegan hydration mixes that provide electrolytes and creatine to help decrease muscle soreness during exercise. I used the grape flavor before my morning workout. I will say that you should use nice, cold water, because mine was room temperature and it was not very tasty or refreshing. This is a bit saltier than some other creatine powders I’ve used before, but it dissolved well and I feel pretty good after a heavy weightlifting routine this morning. Buy MeStrength Here
So there you have it, an amazing little box of running and endurance treats. I was really impressed with the quality and variety of products. I like that they give you healthy and organic options as well as items that are good to the earth. I’m already excited for the next one!
